About Khaulah Nurrudin
Khaulah Naima Nuruddin, originally from Milwaukee, WI, received her BFA from University of South Florida then continued her studies at Florida Atlantic University, where she earned her MFA. Nuruddin’s work uses symbolic imagery and anthropomorphized objects to explore the sensitivities of emotionally charged human interaction. Based out of Fort Lauderdale, Nuruddin is a working artist who once served as Museum Education Coordinator at her alma mater, FAU. Nuruddin has curated the following exhibits at SCHM, the Beanie Backus/Highway Men exhibition, Discrimination and Disparity exhibition, and The Reel/Share my Reel exhibition.

The Kwanzaa Celebration at the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum is a vibrant community event. Families come together to make gifts, enjoy live music, engage in art activities, and participate in storytelling. Held outdoors on the museum grounds, the event highlights the seven principles of Kwanzaa with contributions from local families and youth, creating a rich and memorable experience for all. Hosted in collaboration with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Sankofa Study Group, Pyramid Books, and Kwanzaa 365 Live, this celebration honors African culture and heritage in a meaningful way.

Yes! A signature community event, which is often sold-out, the Spady Museum’s “I Have A Dream” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Brunch has swelled to welcome more than 300 people from Palm Beach and Broward counties. The 2025 Brunch will feature guest speaker Don Mizell, Esq., whose work includes developing the successful marketing strategy for creation of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. national holiday.
