In 2026 we celebrate our 25th anniversary, and we are truly grateful for a quarter-century of support from individuals like you.
We are optimistic about the future of the Spady Museum and look forward to another 25 years of providing enriching, quality programs for all to learn and enjoy.
As conversations continue around the history of American citizens and the importance of completeness and truth, we remain committed to advancing bringing people together by providing educational programs that emphasize the importance of the contributions of Black culture, historically and present day.

Careers & Internships
The Collections Intern is a part-time volunteer position that reports to the museum archivist and assists the archivist with collections care, digitizing and collection care workshops.
Duties Include:
daily maintenance and care of collections
Organizing & conducting collections care workshops for the general public
Digitization, including scanning and photographs

The Education Intern is a part-time volunteer position that reports to the museum educator and assists staff with museum programs.
Duties Include:
Exhibition preparation-writing and installation
Program Scheduling-instructors and attendees
Program Recording and evaluation
