SUPPORTING AFRICAN DIASPORA

Supporting The African Diaspora

In America today, there are numerous institutions that celebrate Black & Brown history, the value and long experience of Black lives and Black owned businesses in America. At issue in America today, there are numerous historical and contemporary challenges that still serve as impediments to many Black & Brown Americans to get access to capital and resources and many cultural barriers shaped along the issues of race. The McKinsey Institute for Black Economic Mobility speaks to this poignantly in their mission of seeking to closing racial gaps across the economy is not only about righting historic wrongs. It is also about choosing a more dynamic future and realizing the full potential of a massively underutilized source of talent, to the benefit of all Americans.

While we are not here to solve these complex issues of race and structural and systemic impediments per se, we are looking to offer an enriched experience within the Spady Central Plaza & Marketplace for all guests and patrons of the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum whose mission is to expand, preserve and present the culturally diverse history of the Black communities of Palm Beach County, so that we can provide this unique experience around a commercial platform linking the arts and crafts and historical content of and by Black and Brown artisans and craftsmen, authors, and speakers that shape to the rich and diverse history of Black and Brown communities who are direct descendants of the African diaspora.
