Spady Cultural Heritage Museum Celebrated 20 Years Of Art & History With VIP Anniversary Party

Twenty years of providing art, culture and history culminated in an evening of laughter, music and nostalgia at the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum. On July 27, 2021 – two decades after the museum opened to the public – guests arrived to celebrate the institution’s past and future.
Board members of the Spady Museum mingled among former board members, staff, partners, artists and the museum founder and past Board Chair Vera Farrington. Farrington’s daughter, Charlene Farrington, manages the museum as its Director and has overseen the museum’s continued relevance with programming that appeals to all ages and ethnicities.

The 20th anniversary celebration was also an opportunity to raise funds for future programs and events.

The Jim Moran Foundation has generously pledged to match funds raised up to $20,000, and the museum has launched several virtual and in-person campaigns, giving people an opportunity to invest in its future.

“The mix of past and present was a wonderful experience and felt like a family reunion. Each person in attendance has aided the museum’s development in small and large ways,” Charlene Farrington said. “When I looked out on our audience, I saw contributors to our mission and legacy, as well as our vision. Plans for the Spady Museum will include even more people through digital platforms, virtual marketplaces and global artistry. We are so proud of how much we’ve accomplished and how much more we can do.”
